In 1998 the musician Johannes Barthelmes decided after a long southasiatournee with the pianist Uli Lenz to make the photography to a famous point in his life.
In june 1999 he gets an inviting of the NATIONAL ART GALLERY Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The exhibition with the titel German Art of the 90's ( J.B. shows 30 portraitpictures beside artists like Frank Thiel, Stephan Runge a.o.) has great success and Barthelmes gets after it in thw winter 1999/2ooo a specialexhibition in the SPACE 2324 ART GALLERY in Kuala Lumpur with the title "FACES".
He took part on the exhibition KARNEVAL DER KULTUREN - DOC.'99 in Berlin
He published in the Spiegel, Tagesspiegel Berlin, Jazzpodium (titlecover), etc.
His subtile b/w-nudes get published while the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2001 in MEIN HEIMLICHES AUGE - the yearbook of erotic XVI.
