In
2000, Jeff left behind a rigorous 7-year
law career to enjoy his waking hours. He
took his darkroom equipment out of the
attic and set it up for the first time
since high school. He then set up a studio
and started looking for nude models.
"I
have always been enamored of the human
form. Having been a gymnast from the age
of 8 through college, I was constantly
surrounded by beautiful, muscular male and
female bodies. In
addition to practicing a
supremely challenging sport, participating
in the world of gymnastics allowed me to
witness the splendor of the human form as
it performed feats of strength, balance,
flexibility and grace on a near daily
basis. In my book, inspiration doesn’t
get much better than that!"
"In
my photography I try to capture the simple
and pure beauty of the human form.
I
attempt to use just enough light to reveal
the beauty of a model’s form and thereby
create enough shadow to leave some mystery.
I am often drawn to details like a bicep
or a wisp of hair and I marvel at how
light can bring out the strength or
softness of a particular body or body
part."
"Lately
I have been shooting a lot of couples.
Seeing the chemistry between two people
puts a smile on my face and inspiration in
my mind. I find it extremely invigorating
to attempt to capture the heat, affection,
passion, lust, emotion, etc. that a couple
can generate. I love my work!"
Jeff
started exhibiting his photography at the
LA Pride festival in June 2002. Since then
he has been exhibiting all over California
almost non-stop. His photography was
featured in the portfolio section of the
November/December 2002 issue of [2]
Magazine. Recently, one of Jeff’s prints
was chosen to become a part of the
permanent collection of the Tom of Finland
Foundation.
In
Italy, Jeff is represented by Cristiano
Merra at the Museo Gilardi in Forte dei
Marmi (www.museogilardi.it
